August 23 - August 29, 2008: Crews are working off the roadway during the day and shoulder or bike lane closures may be needed. Nighttime lane closures will be encountered as resurfacing work continues. Motorcyclists and bicyclists must use caution as a grooved roadway surface will be in place for up to two weeks before new asphalt is placed. Motorists should be aware of vehicles entering and leaving the roadway.

State Road 26A (SW 2nd Avenue) Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Intermittent daytime lane closures with flaggers directing traffic may be encountered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as crews replace broken concrete near the edge of the road. Motorists should expect 10-15 minute delays.

State Road 21 Multiuse Path in Keystone Heights Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Intermittent daytime lane closures may be encountered on State Road 21 Monday, August 25 through Friday, August 29 from the end of the sidewalk near Hardees Restaurant to Gold Head State Park while crews work on drainage modifications and the new pedestrian barrier wall at the Brooklyn Lake Bridge. This project should be completed by early 2009.

U.S. 17/Doctors Inlet Bridge widening between Milwaukee Avenue and Creighton Road Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Lane closings may occur within the project limits next week from Sunday through Friday. Lane closings are allowed northbound between 6:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. and southbound lane between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. The projected completion time for this project is the winter of 2010.

Columbia

Interstate 10 Traffic Detection Installation
August 23 - August 29, 2008: One lane will be closed at the County Road 250 overpass Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to install new traffic detectors in the pavement.

Southwest Walter Avenue Road Closure Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: The road is closed at the Rose Creek Bridge for bridge replacement. All traffic is detoured to Southwest Little Road for the next month.

U.S. 90 West at Interstate 75 Routine Bridge Maintenance
August 23 - August 29, 2008: One lane will be closed in either direction under the Interstate 75 overpass Monday through Thursday from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for routine bridge maintenance (postponed from last week).

August 23 - August 29, 2008: Crews will be painting the roadway lines on Sunday from Interstate 75 to the Suwannee County line (pending weather).

Duval

Blanding Boulevard Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Single lanes may be closed in both directions next week at various locations within the project limits between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. This project should be finished by early spring in 2009.

Branan Field Chaffee Road extension between 103rd Street and I-10 Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: No lane closings are scheduled for next week. Detour signs will be posted. The project should be completed in the fall of 2009.

Broward (DAMES POINT) Bridge Repainting Project
April 28, 2008 - April 28, 2009: One outside northbound lane on the (Broward) Dames Point Bridge has been closed and will remain closed for about a year. One southbound outside lane closed earlier will remain closed until the end of this year.

The lane closures are necessary for equipment and scaffolding needed to repaint the sides of the bridge.

The merge pattern for northbound traffic coming onto the bridge from Merrill Road and Southside Boulevard has also changed to allow for a safe placement of traffic information signs about the construction. The new traffic pattern provides a smoother transition for traffic to the bridge from the merge area because of the closed northbound lane. The new merge pattern is closer to Merrill Road and Southside Boulevard than than it was before so watch for this change as you travel in the area.

The bridge repainting project started on February 21, 2007 and should be completed by the spring of 2009.

Broward (Dames Point) Bridge repainting project Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: About 2,600 feet of the right southbound lane near the peak of the bridge is closed until the end of 2008 for the bridge repainting project. About 2,600 feet of the right northbound lane is closed until the spring of 2009. This project should be finished in the summer of 2009.

Interstate 95/ S.R. 9A east interchange reconstruction near JIA Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: One southbound lane from Cole Road to the I-295/S.R. 9A interchange (about 4,000 feet long on the outside) is closed for ramp construction until approximately November 2008. The new ramp from I-95 south to S.R. 9A east should be finished in the fall of 2010.

J. Turner Butler Boulevard widening between Kernan Boulevard and San Pablo Road Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: No lane closings are scheduled for next week. The anticipated project completion time is the winter of 2009.

Kings Road under I-95 Routine Bridge Inspection
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Various lanes under the bridge on Kings Road will be closed in both directions on Tuesday, August 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a routine bridge inspection.

Mathews Bridge Routine Bridge Maintenance
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Single eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed on Thursday, August 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for routine bridge maintenance.

S.R. 9A one-half mile north of Merrill Road Routine Sign Maintenance

August 23 - August 29, 2008: Lane closings will occur at various locations within the project limits next week on S.R. 9A, Heckscher Drive and New Berlin Road. Lane closings are allowed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. This project should be completed by the spring of 2009.

St. Johns Avenue between Glendale Street and Van Wert Avenue Water Main Installation
August 23 - August 29, 2008: This section of St. Johns Avenue will be totally closed to through traffic starting Monday, August 25 for installing a water main. The area will still be accessible to local traffic. Detour signs will be posted. This detour will last through mid-October.

St. Johns Avenue Closure between Glendale Street and Edgewood Avenue
August 26 - August 30, 2008: St. Johns Avenue between Glendale Street and Edgewood Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Residents living within the detour area will still be able to get to their homes, and this detour will not affect deliveries, individuals going to the retail section of St. Johns Avenue and related local traffic. Access to the businesses in the Avondale retail area will still be maintained. This detour will last until approximately mid-October in order to place a water main in the s curve area. Traffic westbound (away from downtown) will be detoured from St. Johns Avenue along Herschel Street to Edgewood Avenue and back to St. Johns Avenue. Traffic eastbound (towards downtown) will be detoured along Herschel Street to Ingleside Avenue to St. Johns Avenue. Access to Boone Park will still be available at locations on Van Wert Avenue, Pine Grove Street and Herschel Street.

State Road 9A at J.T. Butler Boulevard Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: J. Turner Butler Boulevard/S.R. 9A interchange construction Various ramp closings and directional closures will occur within the project limits on J. Turner Butler Boulevard and S.R. 9A from Sunday, August 24 through Friday, August 29 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. These closings and detours will not happen simultaneously. Only individual closings will occur on various nights. There are two long term detours in place. Both should be ended by October. S.R. 9A south to J. Turner Butler Boulevard east is being detoured to the Gate Parkway exit to S.R. 9A north to J. Turner Butler Boulevard east. J. Turner Butler Boulevard east to S.R. 9A north is being detoured to Kernan Boulevard to J. Turner Butler Boulevard west to S.R. 9A. This project should finish by the end of this year.

State Road 312 Cathodic Protection Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Eastbound State Road 312, on the bridge over the Matanzas River, is scheduled to be reduced to one lane Monday, August 25 through Friday, August 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for concrete to be delivered to the barge. Boaters should also use caution while work is completed outside the main channel beneath the bridge, Saturday, August 23 through Friday, August 29.

August 23 - August 29, 2008: Daytime lane closures are scheduled on State Road A1A from County Road 203 to the Duval County line Monday, August 25 through Thursday, August 28 while crews repaint the roadway symbols, such as turn lane arrows. One lane of traffic will remain open in both directions.

U.S. 1 at King Street Intersection Work Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Westbound King Street is closed to traffic near Broudys and a new detour is in effect. Motorists will be detoured south on U.S. 1 to State Road 207 to South Dixie/Pellicer Lane and back to King Street. This detour will be in place for approximately six weeks while the northwest corner of the intersection is under construction.
Daytime lane closures may also be encountered at the intersection of U.S. 1 and King Street Monday, August 25 through Friday, August 29 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. while crews work on the turn lanes. Please watch for merging traffic. The eastbound detour on King Street will take place once westbound King Street traffic is restored, approximately six weeks from August 5. Stay tuned for weekly updates on when the eastbound detour will occur.

Suwannee

County Road 248 Resurfacing Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Daytime lane closures between U.S. 129 and State Road 247 to widen the roadway and to work on drainage pipes in preparation for resurfacing. The contractor plans to begin paving at the end of the week. The contractor is not working on Fridays.

State Road 247 Resurfacing Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: No traffic impacts scheduled as crews plan to begin work on drainage pipes from Branford to the Columbia County line. If any do occur, daytime lane closures will not begin until after 8:30 a.m. The contractor does not intend to work Fridays.

U.S. 129 Landscaping Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Work begins Monday at the Interstate 10 interchange area to landscape. No lane closures expected.

U.S. 129 Resurfacing from Branford to McAlpin Traffic Impacts
August 23 - August 29, 2008: Daytime lane closures as resurfacing continues on the southbound lanes from McAlpin to the northern city limits of Branford. Also, crews are working on drainage pipes but no lane closures expected. Work is expected to begin Tuesday on paving the 5-foot shoulders from north of Branford to McAlpin. If entering the road from a driveway in the middle of a lane closure, make sure the traffic is headed in the same direction you wish to travel to avoid a head-on collision. The contractor does not intend to work on Fridays.
