The Florida Department of Transportation is resurfacing State Road 45 (U.S. 27/U.S. 41) from Archer Road (State Road 24) to south of West Newberry Road (State Road 26) in Alachua County. The $5.6 million project includes milling and resurfacing the roadway, installing new signage and pavement markings, upgrading the traffic monitoring site and adding a sidewalk.
Watson Construction Company, LLC was selected to complete the two projects along 9.2 miles of roadway.
Traffic will be maintained in accordance with Florida Department of Transportation design standards throughout the project. Drivers can expect periodic daytime lane closures; however, lane closures will not be permitted Monday through Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. In addition, work within 600 feet of Oak View Middle School may not begin until 30 minutes after the school day starts, and all crews must be off the roadway one hour before dismissal.
