U.S. 301 at Northwest County Road 233 proposed access changes
Overview

This project proposes access changes on U.S. 301 (State Road 200) at Northwest County Road 233 in Bradford County, where developer Jeffrey Norman has requested a permit to construct a 7-Eleven convenience store at 2888 NE 193rd St. in Starke. The proposed development would be located on the east side of U.S. 301, just south of the intersection of U.S. 301 and Northwest County Road 233.

To maintain safety in the area and manage access to the proposed commercial site, The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) would require the developer to modify the existing median opening on U.S. 301 across from Northwest County Road 233 and the proposed 7-Eleven driveway. The proposed directional median opening would allow northbound and southbound left turns from U.S. 301 while restricting left turns from Northwest County Road 233 and the proposed commercial driveway onto U.S. 301. Motorists traveling in the restricted directions would be required to turn right and make a U-turn at the next available median opening.

These modifications are intended to improve safety and meet current FDOT access management requirements. The proposed improvements would be funded by the developer and constructed at no cost to taxpayers.

If you have questions or comments about the proposed changes, please contact FDOT Permits Manager Bradley Adams at (352) 381-4316, by email at Bradley.Adams@dot.state.fl.us or by mail at 5301 NE 39th Ave., Gainesville, FL 32609.
